Wildlife at the Basin – Diamond Python

Wildlife of the Basin campground ecotreasures

The Basin campground is great place to search for native wildlife. This Diamond Python was curled up in the rock on the Basin Beach, Ku-ring-gai Chase NP only meters away from the pubic BBQ’s area. The weather was overcast and only 20-22 degrees but very humid.

We had just finished a Paddle Board Safari tour when one of the nice NPWS rangers informed us of the snake chilling on the rocks, and that we should go and have a look. I then passed on the message to the our customers.  The directions given to us were very precise so we found the snake in a short amount of time.

The patterns on the Diamond Pythons are a very impressive natural piece of artwork. Next time you are in the great outdoors try search for other amazing patterns in nature.

Enjoy the outdoors
